SPARK is a new curriculum published by Augsburg Fortress that is being used in Sunday and Wednesday School for Age 3 to Grade 4.  The Bible stories being taught during education times are the same as the Bible lessons heard during worship.  Classes are taught by volunteer members of the congregation September through May.  Students have the same teachers for the entire school year so that they can develop  a bond with adults in their congregational family.

Youth Christian Education

Grapple is the curriculum from Group Publishing that is used for Route 56 our students in Grades 5 and 6 on both Sunday and Wednesday.  This is an interactive discussion curriculum that uses the Bible to help students answer the faith questions they are encountering in their daily lives.

Re:Form the Anti-Workbook from Augsburg Fortress is the curriculum used at the Revive 78 classes for our students in Grades 7 and 8.  Revive 78 is education, confirmation and youth group rolled into a one night a week event.  Wednesday is the night for Revive 78 meetings.

Confirmation

Classes for 7th & 8th Grade students are held monthly on Sunday nights using a retreat format.  Studies are led by Pastor Tony Haglund and Kari Elling, Youth Director.

7th Grade students and their parents work through a guide called “Confirmation Journey for Parents and Youth” before beginning the retreat classes.

Mentoring for 9th Grade students is held Sunday evenings.  9th Graders and their chosen mentors spend time talking about faith using the “Confirmation Journey for Mentors and Youth” books as a starting point.

Confirmation is held on Reformation Sunday each year for 9th Graders completing the classes.
